Bangladesh Entomological Society

The Bangladesh Entomological Society (BES) is a professional organization and serving the needs of entomologists and people in related disciplines. Established in 1990, BES today’s has more than 600 members affiliated with research institutes, educational institutions, health organizations, private industries, GO and NGOs. Members are scientists, educationists, extension service personnel, administrators, marketing representatives, consultants, students, hobbyists etc.

BES is a non-profit professional society governed by a 16- membered executive committee elected by the general members in its biannual conferences. The Headquarter of BES is located at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Joydebpur, Gazipur/ Bangladesh Rice Research Institute, Joydebpur, Gazipur/ Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur/ Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh.

BES publishes a scientific journal “Bangladesh Journal of Entomology”, twice a year that provide unsurpassed coverage of the broad science of entomology. Moreover, it publishes a colorful magazine on different aspects  of entomological news “prozapati”-twice a year.

BES organizes biannual conference, where more than 500 professionals gather to exchange scientific information. In spite of that also arrange seminar, symposium every year.

Those and many other benefit and services make BES membership valued by entomologists in Bangladesh as well as throughout the world.
